This Compression Platform is on an angle so anything launched will be flung in an arc. Other platforms are level and instead launch objects straight up.
A Compression Platform can be used to launch objects such as Safes, optionally with the player riding on top. Typically the Heavy and Fluffy dimensions are needed to force the plate down before allowing it to spring back up, throwing the object that was on it.
